Shanghai, after two years of intense work, inaugurate these days a megacenter to recharge electric cars . There are 44 recharging posts available, 13 of them for fast charging plus two special ones for the Teslas. But the most surprising thing about Tellus Power is: almost all the available current is GREEN, produced by the photovoltaic elements of the glass insulation of the building.
The Tellus Power mega-recharge center covers an area of 2,500 square meters and offers, in addition to the recharging posts, gastronomic offerings, entertainment and an electric car-sharing system.
The integrated 90 kW solar modules supply up to 400 kWh of green current daily; the building can produce around 80,000 kWh of electricity per year, which is partially stored to provide electricity at night, and if there is surplus, it is introduced into the city's electricity grid.
Peter Pang, manager of Tellus Power, tells us that a large city will require about 10 megacenters of this type to be able to manage the current electric cars of the future, along with the possibilities of refills in private homes and garages. The Shanghai Megacenter is currently the largest in the world.
