ZBee rickshaw, from Sweden to India

It`s curiously that a Swedish company develops an electric tricycle to renovate the decrepit fleet of Indian rickshaws pollute. And we say curious, because in India they spent years trying to "electrify" the famous tricycles with populan in the country. Apparently the Swedes have been successful with this lightweight model, that could to be built in mass production in India.

The ZBee electric tricycle developed by Clean Motion Lerum AB (Sweden) is made of composite materials of the latest generation, very light but very sturdy at once. Only measures 2.40 meters but can carry up to three people, plus only weights 230 kg, hence the secrecy. It takes a 4 kW electric motor, allowing a top speed of 30 mph and a driving range of 27 miles, demonstrating that it is specially developed for its role as an urban vehicle for rather short distances, which is what most required in the major cities of India. The battery recharges in three hours, which, it seems, will not be a problem.

This tricycle will try to reduce the large fleet of old tricycles, many of them based on old Piaggio models, polluting the cities. The government of India is very susceptible to the introduction of electric vehicles, which is why there are other attempts to provide tricycle rickshaw with this drive type. These vehicles are not completely free of contamination, since most of the country's electricity using coal as a source.
