WAVE 2014 Guinness Record for 507 electric vehicles

The WAVE 2014 (World Advanced Vehicle Expedition) has just entered the Guinness Book of Records as the largest gathering of electric vehicles: 507 electric vehicles focused on 31 May in Stuttgart to celebrate the biggest event and the beginning of what is considered the largest rally of electric vehicles.



The 507 electric vehicles beat the previous record of 2013 with 305 vehicles, and circulated all together from the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart until the middle of the city (Volksfestgelände), forming a long convoy.

The WAVE 2014, the World Advanced Vehicle Expedition, started on the 31st May 2014 and is the world's largest electric vehicle rallye, leading from Stuttgart via Bavaria and around Switzerland to Lucerne in 9 days. The WAVE consists of four events with not more than 27 vehicles per event: The "Exclusive WAVE" for the more exclusive vehicles, the "Popular WAVE" for the serial models, the "Light WAVE" for vehicles with less than 900 kg empty weight and the "E-Bike WAVE". With all together 80 participating teams from all over the world, the WAVE aims to show that electric mobility powered by renewable energies is available and a great solution for our future mobility.
