Created by a banking consortium, the French society Sovel was one of the longest running businesses in the sector of electric vehicles with more than 60 years of production of vans and trucks for different uses, mainly distribution of goods in town and municipal services. It was created with political support in seeking to encourage the use of domestic fuels to reduce dependency on oil purchases abroad.
