The Weez from Eon Motors, the most modern and fully electric microcar was just finished in France, preparing to be presented at the Mondial de l'Automobile, the International Paris Motor Show, which takes place between October 4th – 19th.

This is a three-seater microcar, with the driver's seat in the middle and one on each side for passenger, and an electric motor in each of the hubs of the wheels, every engine of 1 kW to complete the 4 kW (5,5 HP) for small microcars. A four-wheel drive legitimated micorcar that needs no driver license.

It can be driven from 16 years on like a scooter, but this is a car with wing doors, a trunk capacity of 500 liters, four wheels, a sexy closed body and four-wheel-drive. For law enforcement its top speed is throttled at 45 km/h.

This model introduced by the company Eon Motors, which has already raised its production plant with all roofs fully covered with solar panels, is known for its lightness. The entire vehicle weighs only 250 kg plus 45 kg of the battery pack, ensuring a range of nearly 40 miles and a recharge time of 3 hours and a half to any household outlet with 230 V and 16 amps.

After its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year, the Eon Motors Weez has been optimized and is now ready for production. You can buy the car from October 2014 on at a starting price of € 9,000.

The Weez is part of the "empathy-project", a research project funded by the European Union, in which several "start-up" companies are involved. Eon Motors is one of them.

EMPATHY project aims at developing an innovative configuration of permanent magnet electrical motor, based on the evolution of the FSPM (Flux Switching Permanent Magnet) architecture, enabling to limit torque ripple which traditionally affects such a configuration, opening the way to the industrial exploitation of magnetic flux switching motors, which are able to offer unparalleled performance. The Weez is the first car to carry this new generation of electric motors.
