The Californian company Calfee Design just presented a one-off concept of a bamboo bike, one of the specialities of the company, but equipped with an electric engine. It's a working bike, that could easily replace a microvan.

Calfee Design is a welknown builder of bikes, with the speciality of tandem bikes that be converted to singles, an unique rear suspension system, which increases comfort and safety, and the manufacturing of bicycles with bamboo frame, convinced that it is an excellent, durable and comfortable material, and very striking.

The electric bamboo-bike is a working-bike with cargo space room in front, in a large basket, and the two steel boxes on rear.

The concept uses a 500-watt BionX rear hub motor and provides pedal-assist power to be selected by users. An LCD control module on the handlebar gives information about the battery and the range.

No more dates are known, but the manager of the company said he like to build this bike for everyone and the cost are around 8.000 dolars.
