Furion, hybrid motocycle with rotary engine

V. Christian Manz Colaborador • 08 May, 2017

The French company Furion Motorcycles presents a hybrid motorcycle merging a Wankel rotary motor of 125 hp with a 55 hp electric engine, creating in this way a powerful and agile big motorcycle with 180 hp of power and a minimum consumption of less than 4 liters a 100 kilometers. Its creators emphasize that it has a unique sound.

Already a rotary engine sounds otherwise, and combined with an electric motor a new sound is guaranteed, and above all an unusual system for a motorcycle. But the Furion meets the most demanding European regulations, and despite actually only a unique development, it could soon be manufactured in a limited series.

The rotary engine has two rotors and 654 cc of volume, so it is quite compact. The 205 Nm of torque are available from the first moment, which promises very good performance, and, so important in a motorcycle, good driving sensations.
