A one seater electric car with gullwings
The Renault Twizy will get a serious competitor. The Colibri (hummingsbird) from the German company IMA(Innovative Mobility Automobile) is an elegant one seater, with a size comparable to the Twizy – it is a Little bit longer and wider -, but with doors and a trunk compartment, all completely able to be closed.
The Colibri had a mid-engine composed of four CPM90 engines that bring together 24 kW (33 CV), with a weight of only 14 kg, together with the two speed gearbox. The 6,5 kWh battery pack (litio-ferro-phosphat) allows a range up to 100 km, witch takes two hours to recharge using a household outlet, but it can also be rechardes at 80% in 20 minutes with a fast charger.
It takes less tan 10 seconds for a 0 to 100 km/h and has a top speed of 120 km/h, quite more tan the Twizy. IMA told to Prestige Electric Car the Price target is about 9.000 € when production starts at the end of 2014, with an additional 55€ a month for the battery rental.
